Scottish Screen is a Scottish Executive
funded organisation working to encourage, develop and promote every aspect
of film, TV and new media in Scotland. They offer training and education
to those already working in the industry while also supporting those at

offer annual short course training programmes, theme-based seminars and
bursary support for advanced training. Core to their work is the industry
approved 18-month full-time New Entrants Training Course.
Scottish Screen is the Open Assessment Centre for the delivery of Skillset
Professional Qualifications, and offers a range of other vocational qualifications
offering industry practitioners the opportunity to develop their skills

| what does media antenna scotland do? |
 |
MEDIA is a package of schemes for development, training and distribution.
You can apply for grants (and interest-free loans in some cases) in all
of these areas. You can also get onto a really great range of training courses
for different levels of experience with like-minded professionals from all
over Europe. And you can get to major industry markets and events at subsidised
rates, with help and support when you get there.
Independent production and distribution companies
can apply for development or distribution funding in the form of grants
and interest-free loans. Financial assistance is available for training
providers and organisers of markets and festivals. Individuals may also
benefit from subsidised places on training courses and at international markets.
In short, MEDIA addresses particular areas of weaknesses in the European
industry through a set of practical tools which help companies and individuals
develop their businesses and skills.
Who can apply?
Practitioners in the audiovisual industry such as producers
of film; television; animation; new media companies; distribution and sales
companies; and also 'enabling' organisations such as training bodies or film
schools, promotional events or festival organisers.
