Drivers from overseas who do not hold a UK driving licence may drive in Britain providing their licence is valid in their own country. It is, however, a good idea to obtain an international driving licence to smooth the process of hiring a car.
Please note that most car hire companies insist on drivers being at least 23 years old. For larger vehicles the minimum age may be 25 years.
